Why Enroll Your Child in a Summer Camp?
Written by Guest Blog

With the end of the academic year, the kids finally receive a break from all the rush of running to school, studying and learning, performing in exams, completing homework and projects.

This almost drains them out of their physical and mental energy. With a well-deserved summer break, kids would want to reap the benefits of their long hard year’s work.

They would want some fun and newness in life. Summer Camp is what they are looking for!

But for parents, it’s a big question on whether it’s necessary that their kids go to a summer camp. Here are the top reasons why you should get your child enrolled in a summer camp. It is a good time to inculcate good values.

For Kids:

  • Creates an opportunity to learn something new

Summer camps have various options for you to choose from. Kids could develop their skills in their area of interest or they could use this opportunity to enhance their knowledge in a fun-filled way.

  • Develop the child’s hobby

Be it art or dance, there are a variety of options to choose from. If you wish to give your child an opportunity to pursue their hobbies and are keen on developing their creative side, then enrolling them in a summer camp would be a great idea.

  • It’s a fun environment to learn

Summer camps give kids the ability to perform without any pressure of time or result. Here children are given the opportunity to learn while enjoying the process.

This fun environment gives them the opportunity for mental rejuvenation allowing them to refresh their minds for the next academic year.

  • Meet new kids

Summer camps are also an opportunity for new friendships. Children do need to interact with children from various backgrounds.

In a school, students are familiar with their classmates and often end up spending the next decade together but at summer camps every child brings with them something new to teach and share in the process of learning at the same time.

These interactions allow learning to take place, introduction to new ideas and it is a pleasant group of playmates for the summer.

Based on different options to select from, be it Music, Art, Dance, English, Science, Technology, Robotics or even learning a new language, it is necessary to teach your kids that there is no end to learning as it is a constant process for enhancing academics and hobbies.

For Parents:

  • A systematic program to enhance the chosen area of their choice

Planned activities in the chosen areas are systematically chalked out for a short period.

This allows the children to learn something new and to take this back to school once the summer break is over.

Therefore, training in areas that require special attention to have them equipped for the future is not an option but a necessity.

Organisers of summer camps are well aware of this need and thus, they create an arena for additional learning to take place.

  • Adds discipline and teaches time management

The summer break might allow the children to think that they do not need discipline and a routine any further but enrolling them in summer camps gives them the ideas that these two aspects are important in order to be successful.

Be it etiquette classes or robotics this helps kids understand that need for the above-mentioned aspects. For parents it’s a productive holiday where happy learning has taken place.

Allows children to understand that learning can take place everywhere and not just in schools.

Many children have resorted to the idea that learning is only necessary within the school walls and a little bit of homework done at home.

In order to break this idea summer camps allow them to understand that learning can take place outside the school premises as well.

It allows them to learn new things outside their textbooks.

Summer camp is overall a nice way to distract your child from gadgets, TV etc. and also keeping up a routine in an easy manner unlike during school days where it’s just running the whole day. Making them move out of the house, play games, rejoicing in fresh air makes them physically and mentally active.
